Implementation by DAKO | Impressive composition of window and door joinery in a detached house from New Jersey

Implementation: Fox Windows & Doors Ltd.

This project, full of diverse glazing and hidden innovations, is the best proof that black and white does not have to be boring! Another satisfied client of ours is a single-family homeowner from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. In charge of the order was DAKO’s local Sales Partner, Fox Windows from the USA.

At first glance, you notice the huge variety of glazing throughout the house: spectacular windows more than 5 metres high in the stairwell, rectangular ones in the dining room, and smaller ones located on two floors, across the entire width of the walls. The modern flair of the upper windows is added by 18 mm wide internal muntins. The picture is rounded off by monochrome patio doors with different opening designs that look out onto the sun-drenched veranda.

In the case of the joinery used in this project, it’s worth noting the functional hardware with micro-ventilation and four-stage tilt, which enabled the builder to achieve smooth circulation and a supply of fresh air on a daily basis.

  • The DPP-70 series of PVC windows in black used in the implementation is equipped with a warm, 5-chamber A-class profile and an energy-efficient double-glazing package filled with noble gas.
  • For the windows, we proposed special glazing made of toughened glass, which features increased strength – it’s extremely resistant to mechanical damage, among other things.
  • The window joinery is complemented by framed and pleated mosquito nets, which ensure that the insects characteristic of the East Coast climate are not a nuisance to residents, regardless of the season.
  • The boundaries between the living room and veranda are blurred with the HST-Motion panoramic lift-and-slide patio doors. The elegant, smoothly rising sashes take no effort to slide open and open a wide terrace exit.
