The growing number of customers for the comprehensive range of DAKO products and the constantly increasing share of export sales are the main factors influencing the decision of expanding the company and enlarging its usable area.
The implementation of the project, which had been planned for a long time, was commenced in March, as explained by DAKO Chairman of the Board, Jerzy Studziński:
It took us a long time to decide on the best moment for this investment - mainly due to the uncertain and constantly changing situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic - we considered multiple possible scenarios. However, despite the difficulties resulting from restrictions and limitations, the construction industry is doing reasonably well which translates directly into demand for joinery. Taking into consideration further development plans of the company and wanting to ensure ourselves the possibility of servicing an increasing number of orders we decided to take a brave step and invest in further development of infrastructure.
The first stage of expanding the warehouse and the production hall was carried out in 2017 and allowed the company to increase its production capacity, primarily in vinyl and aluminum joinery. The current investment will provide DAKO with more than 10 000 m² of additional space. It aims at increasing the efficiency of transport and warehouse service and production capacity as well as increasing and expanding the administrative and office facilities.
Sales development and production growth are directly linked with the necessity to provide an appropriate level of service and infrastructure to enable professional operation in various areas. It is due to the growing level of employment and activities related to the development of foreign sales markets that the investment will also include the expansion of the office building and creation of a modern exhibition space.
As explained by Anna Studzińska, DAKO Marketing Director: The new office building has been designed with the consideration of its exhibition function - on approximately 1000 m2, a showroom of DAKO products will be set up and additional space will be used for trainings, conferences and meetings. Our many years of experience from exhibiting at trade fairs and contacts with customers, strongly indicate that direct contact and professional, full-scale product presentation that allows customers to assess the quality of a product "live" is the key to effective sales.
As part of the project, the accompanying infrastructure is also being built including the development of the area around the production hall, i.e. the construction of parking lots, access roads and the vehicle maneuvering area.
