How do we protect our products against the harmful effects of external factors

In order for DAKO products to serve our customers as long as possible, we pay special attention to providing them with adequate protection against adverse weather conditions.

Years of experience have allowed us to develop the best solutions for each of the materials:


  • Wood impregnation - protects against fungi and decay. Each element is impregnated separately. This is important above all in securing the corners, which are particularly exposed to weather conditions
  • During varnishing, the interlayer closes the micropores in the wood, which protects it against water absorption
  • In addition to the interlayer, a silicone-like substance is applied to the V-shaped joints, which protects the most important places against paint cracking
  • Finally, the product is covered with the last, special varnish coat. The pigment contained in it protects the wood against harmful UV radiation. Sunlight is the second factor, after water, in decomposing wood


  • To protect products made of PVC, we use veneers that contain patented pigments that reduce the absorption of UV radiation. Thanks to this, PVC profiles do not heat up so much, and thus are not exposed to deformations related to high temperature.


  • The first stage of protection of aluminum joinery products is the chemical preparation of the surface with oxilan passivation. This passivation protects against corrosion and increases the adhesion of the powder paint
  • The next step is painting with polyester-based powder paints in facade quality. They are characterized by high decorative quality and very good resistance to weather conditions and UV rays. Chemical preparations have appropriate approvals, and the powder paints used are Qalicoat certificates
  • Aluminum joinery is also used in places where it is particularly exposed to corrosion hazards (moisture, chlorides), e.g. in swimming pools. In this case, two-layer painting is used. Before painting with polyester paint, an anti-corrosion primer is applied.
